Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Cooper Pratt was born in Florida but was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 6th round of the 2023 amateur draft out of a high school in Mississippi. He started off his professional career with a bang by batting .356 in 12 games for the ACL Brewers in 2023.
He made a quick rise through the prospect rankings in 2024 when he started the year in the Carolina League and hit .295 in 73 games for the Carolina Mudcats. That earned him a nomination to play in the 2024 Futures Game in Arlington, TX as one of the youngest players in the contest. At the end of July, he was promoted to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League, but found the going tougher there, as he hit .221 in 23 games. For the season as a whole, his slash line was .277/.362/.406 with 8 homers and 45 RBIs in 96 games. He was named a Carolina League postseason All-Star after the season and was invited to spring training by the Brewers as a non-roster invitee in 2025.
He spent the 2025 season in the AA Southern League with the Biloxi Shuckers, where he hit .238/.343/.348 in 120 games. He hit 8 homers and drove in 62 runs. In 2026, he started the season playing in AAA for the first time, with the Nashville Sounds in the International League. He was hitting .241 with 6 homers and 32 RBIs after 58 games when he was called up to Milwaukee on June 16th. He made his major league debut that same day as the starting shortstop against the Cleveland Guardians. He went 0 for 3 in a 2-1 win.
