Biographical Information

Collin Hetzler played as an infielder at Houston Baptist University in 2011 and 2012, after spending two years at Galveston College, but never turned pro, going into coaching instead. Hie was an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2015 to 2017, then worked as an instructor for Driveline Baseball.

In 2023 and 2024, he served as hitting coach for the AAA Syracuse Mets after two seasons as a hitting coach at the Mets minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, FL, and in 2025 moved to the Worcester Red Sox in the same capacity, staying in the International League. On April 25, 2026 made some sweeping changes to their coaching staff following a poor 10-17 start, firing manager Alex Cora and dismissing five of his coaches. Chad Tracy, Collin's manager at Worcester, was named interim manager of the Red Sox and Hetzler followed him to Boston to serve as his hitting coach there as well.

He is the stepbrother of major league pitcher Hoby Milner and stepson of Brian Milner.
