Biographical Information

Clay Winklaar has played in the minors and for the Curaçao national team.

He played for Willemstad in the 2019 Little League World Series. Signed by the San Diego Padres, he hit .069/.257/.069 for the 2024 DSL Padres Brown with as many outfield errors as runs (4). He hit .167/.329/.250 for them in 2025. He then was with Curaçao for the 2025 Bolivarian Games, serving as their primary left fielder. He was plunked by El Salvador's Héctor Martínez his first time up and doubled off him the next. For the Games, he was 2-for-12 with two HBP, a double and a RBI, handling 6 putouts. Only Tito Polo and Liam Arakaki were hit more often.
