Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Sorce pitched in the Seattle Mariners system from 2009 to 2012, peaking at Double-A. He was taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 26th round of the 2009 amateur draft, a couple picks ahead of pitcher Matt Dermody. He was signed by scout Alvin Rittman.

He was 10-3 over his first two seasons, going 2-1 in 2009 and 8-2 in 2010. He tied Nate Long and Anthony Fernandez for the Northwest League lead in wins in 2010, and he tied multiple pitchers for second in starts (15), behind Taylor Rogers' 16. He slipped to 9-14 over his final two campaigns, going 8-12 in 2010 and 1-2 in 2011. In 2011, he was second in innings pitched (165), behind Chad Bettis' 169 2/3. His 206 hits allowed were second, behind Manuel Flores' 217.

Overall, he went 19-17 with a 4.97 ERA in 59 games (50 starts). In 302 2/3 innings, he allowed 358 hits and 94 walks (1.493 WHIP), while striking out 225 batters.
