Biographical Information

Pitcher Chris Egelston was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 6th round of the 1984 Amateur Draft. He played in the Orioles minor league system through 1986, never rising above Low-A ball.

After 1986, Egelston made only one brief appearance in affiliated baseball. The Texas Rangers hired him as a pitching coach for the AZL Rangers in 2018, but released him after the season. It appears Egelston returned to the Kansas City, KS area and worked as a private coach or in a baseball training facility. This Facebook post suggests he is still coaching as of 2025.[1]
