Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Chase Solesky was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 21st round of the 2019 amateur draft; it was the last time that there was such a round in the draft, as it was shortened to five rounds in 2020 and 20 rounds thereafter.

He reached the majors in 2026, in his seventh professional season, not counting the 2020 season during which he was inactive due to the minor leagues being shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic. By then he was with the Tampa Bay Rays, after spending 2024 and 2024 in the Washington Nationals organization and being signed as a minor league free agent in January of 2026. In his debut on May 18th, he pitched three innings in relief of Shane McClanahan in a 16-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
