Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Nelson played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.
Nelson represented the USA in the 1993 Intercontinental Cup. The Los Angeles Dodgers picked him in the 22nd round of the 1993 Amateur Draft, and he hit .321/.461/.406 in 63 games for the Yakima Bears in his first season. He then recorded a .271/.373/.332 batting line for the San Bernardino Spirit in 1995, and he played 64 games with a .298/.420/.395 batting line with the Duluth-Superior Dukes in 1996. He crushed 6 homers with a .281/.357/.357 batting line in 1996 for the Vero Beach Dodgers, then he slumped to .233/.297/.322 in 91 games with the AA San Antonio Missions in 1997. Nelson then left the Dodgers system, and he signed with the St. Paul Saints. However, he went 2-for-19 in 1998, and his professional career ended.
