Biographical Information[edit]

Charlie Beilenson has pitched in the minors.

He was 0-1 with a 13.91 ERA as a freshman at Duke and had a 10.50 ERA in 2020. In '22, he had a 2-2, 3.91 record. As a graduate transfer, he went 6-3 with a 3.86 ERA at Duke. His 39 appearances easily led the Atlantic Coast Conference, six ahead of Owen Proksch. Only Zach Morea pitched more games in NCAA Division I. He was superb in his second year as a grad student, going 7-3 with 12 saves, a 2.01 ERA, .97 WHIP and 92 K in 62 2/3 IP. He tied for 6th in the ACC in wins, was third in games pitched, ranked 6th in strikeouts and led in saves (one ahead of Austin Gordon). He was named an All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. [1]

The Seattle Mariners took him in the 5th round of the 2024 amateur draft, an unusual pick for a grad student. He allowed one run in 3 2/3 IP for the 2024 Modesto Nuts in his pro debut. He split 2025 between Everett AquaSox (2-1, 3 Sv, 3.97 in 20 G) and Arkansas Travelers (2-3, 4 Sv, 4.08 in 24 G); he walked only 12 in 62 2/3 innings while striking out 75. He teamed with Ryan Hawks and Stefan Raeth on a no-hitter against the Eugene Emeralds. [2] He tied Jimmy Kingsbury for 8th in the M's chain in games pitched, tied for 4th in saves and missed the top-ten in strikeouts by two. He then made the Israeli national team roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic; as usual, the team was dominated by Jewish Americans, with only one player (Assaf Lowengart) who had been born and raised in Israel.
