Bruce Michael Dreckman
- Height 6' 0", Weight 240 lb.
Bruce Dreckman began his umpiring career in the 1990 Appalachian League, then moved to the 1991 Midwest League, 1992 Carolina League, 1993 Southern League and 1994 American Association. In 1996, he made it to the major leagues as a National League umpire. However, his career was interrupted when he submitted his resignation late in 1999 as part of a failed negotiating ploy by the umpires' union. His resignation was accepted, as was that of a number of his colleagues, and he was not re-integrated into the major league umpire roster until late in the 2002 season. Because he had been a relatively recent hire when he resigned, he did not receive back pay for the time missed when he returned to the active ranks, contrary to more experienced colleagues.
Dreckman was picked to work the 2009 World Baseball Classic and 2010 All-Star Game. He missed the 2014 season with an injury but came back in 2015. he also missed the 2016 season but returned to work a full slate of games in 2017.
