Team History[edit]
The Brockton Rox are a team that played in various independent leagues from 2002-2011. Based in a suburb of Boston, MA, it derived its name from local resident heavyweight boxer Rocky Marciano. The name was revived in 2025 following the merger of the Can-Am Association with the Frontier League; a new team called the New England Knockouts played in Brockton in 2024, then assumed the old Rox identity starting in 2025.
In 2009, Justine Siegal became the first female coach of a male professional baseball team.
Beginning in 2012, the club transitioned from a professional club to a collegiate summer team, joining the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, until the return of independent ball in 2024.
