Biographical Information[edit]
Brian Sweeney pitched in the majors from 2003 to 2010 with the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. He made 2 starts in 73 appearances, going 4-2, 3.38.
He was the pitching coach for the Gulf Coast Phillies in 2015 and Lakewood BlueClaws in 2016-2017. In 2018, he joined the coaching staff of the major league Cleveland Indians as an assistant pitching coach, then became bullpen coach in 2020, staying until the end of the 2022 season. In 2023, he joined the Kansas City Royals as pitching coach under new manager Matt Quatraro.
