Biographical Information

Pitcher Brian Fitzpatrick was born and grew up on Long Island, NY before attending Rutgers University in nearby New Jersey. He faced some roadblocks there, losing the entire 2020 season to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then being limited to just 6 starts by an injury in his final year in 2022. He was still drafted in the 10th round of the 2022 amateur draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. As a 6'7" lefthander, he was always going to attract the attention of scouts, but it also helped that he was excellent in the Cape Cod League in 2022, not allowing a run in 19 innings.

He started his professional career with two games for the ACL Brewers in 2022, then had a disappointing season in 2023, going 1-2, 6.46 in 10 games between the Arizona Complex League and Low-A. That winter, he played winter ball in the Australian Baseball League and had a very good season for the Brisbane Bandits, going 3-3, 3.74 in 10 starts against much older competition. In 2024, he had a good year for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League, finishing at 5-2, 2.69 in 20 games as a swingman.

He was moved to the bullpen full-time in 2025, when he pitched 38 games spread among three levels: the Midwest League, the AA Biloxi Shuckers and the AAA Nashville Sounds. He finished at 5-4, 3.59 with 2 saves and 62 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings. He started 2026 back with Nashville and after 10 games had not allowed an earned run. He was called up to Milwaukee on April 29th when Ángel Zerpa was placed on the injured list and made his debut that same day. He pitched 1 1/3 scoreless inning in a 6-2 loss to the Arizona Diamonbacks.

He has four older sisters, all of whom where Division-I college athletes, albeit in rowing or volleyball.
