Biographical Information

Brett Laxton is the son of former major leaguer Bill Laxton and the brother of minor leaguer Josh Laxton and cousin of Jarret DeHart. While at Louisiana State University, he struck out a record 16 Wichita State University hitters as a freshman during a three-hit complete game shutout in the title game of the 1993 College World Series.

Laxton, a fastball pitcher, had his professional career derailed due to arm injuries. He only made 9 appearances in the majors: 3 in 1999 with the Oakland Athletics and 6 with the Kansas City Royals in 2000. Overall, he went 0-2, 7.86 in 26 1/3 innings. He later pitched in the Chinese Professional Baseball League after having pitched in the independent Atlantic League in 2004 and 2005 with the Camden Riversharks.
