Biographical Information

Catcher Brad Flanders played in independent ball in 2004-2005.

Flanders was a college coach for Texarkana College (pitching 2008-2011), Saint Louis University (volunteer assistant 2012-2013), University of Arkansas (volunteer catching coach 2014), and Abilene Christian University (pitching 2015-2017). He was a bench coach for the Frisco Rough Riders in 2018-2019. During the 2020 season, Flanders worked as a hitting coach at the Texas Rangers alternative training site after the minor league season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The San Diego Padres hired Flanders in 2021 as a bullpen catcher under manager Jayce Tingler. In 2022, Flanders joined the Philadelphia Phillies in the same capacity. The Phillies added "Assistant Catching Coach" to his duties as bullpen catcher in 2023 and he retained this dual role through the 2025 season.
