Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Bobby Holley played professionally from 1988 to 1997. Though he briefly reached Triple-A (38 AB), he never ascended to the majors.

He was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 40th round of the 1988 amateur draft but never played in their system; Instead, he signed with the Kansas City Royals. He began his professional career with three seasons of sub-.250 batting averages. Partway through the 1990 campaign, he joined the Seattle Mariners system. In his first full campaign in their chain, 1991, he hit .280/.400/.431 with 12 home runs and 54 RBI in 119 games between the Peninsula Pilots and Jacksonville Suns. After a decent 1992 campaign, he hit .249/.326/.425 with 15 home runs and 75 RBI in 120 games between Jacksonville and the Triple-A Calgary Cannons in 1993. He spent 12 games with Calgary, his only taste of Triple-A. He joined the independent ranks in 1994, hitting .315/.450/.544 with 9 home runs and 33 RBI in 44 games for the Huron Heaters of the North Central League that year. In 1995, he hit .382/.467/.615 with 13 home runs and 64 RBI in 68 games for the Aberdeen Pheasants of the Prairie League. His 334 plate appearances were second in the league, behind Gary Collum's 340, his 110 hits were second behind Brian Cornelius' 124, and his 26 doubles were second behind Ken Tirpack's 27. He was an All-Star that year. After not playing in 1996, he returned in 1997, hitting .276/.346/.427 in 33 games for Prairie League's Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs.

In the affiliated minors, he hit .259/.350/.395 with 52 home runs and 283 RBI in 589 games. In indy ball, he hit .341/.438/.556 with 25 homers and 112 RBI in 145 games. At all levels, he hit .276/.369/.430 with 77 home runs and 395 RBI.
