After the 2024 college season ended, the Miami Marlins hired Dorta to work as a baserunning coach for the organization. It is unclear if he was assigned to a particular team for the remainder of the season. Dorta was a defensive coach for the FCL Marlins in 2025 and assistant coach for the Beloit Sky Carp in 2026.

His father, Melvin Dorta, played for the Washington Nationals in 2006.
