Biographical Information[edit]

Growing up in a family full of baseball fans, Beverly Steuert was taught how to pitch by her father, a semipro ballplayer when she was 10 years old. She went on to pitch in 9 games for the Rockford Peaches in 1952; 6 as a starter and 3 in relief, and posted a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. Prior to the 1953 season she injured her ankle and had to sit out that year. She had intended to return after sitting out 1954 as well but the AAGPBL folded before there could ever be another season. After this she went on to play softball and basketball and won a world championship with her basketball team [citation needed].

She eventually settled down in Kernersville, NC and raised 3 children.
