Biographical Information

Pitcher Ashton Izzi was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 4th round of the 2022 amateur draft, out of a high school in the suburbs of Chicago, IL.

He pitched in the Mariners system starting in 2023, when he went 0-2, 8.35 in 9 starts for the ACL Mariners. In 2024, he had a good year for the Modesto Nuts of the Low-A California League, making 26 starts and going 6-5, 2.85. He struck out 95 batters in 110 2/3 innings. He started the 2025 season with the Everett AquaSox of the High-A Northwest League and went 2-4, 5.51 in 12 starts before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 24th. The trade was made a few days before the trading deadline, and he and fellow pitcher Brandyn Garcia, who had made his big league debut only days earlier, were sent to Arizona in return for 1B Josh Naylor.
