Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Andy Pages was signed as an international amateur free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 1, 2018 as a 17-year-old after defecting from Cuba a year earlier, after starring in a youth league. He was still very raw at that point and it took him a few years to round out into a prospect, although he was a Dodgers organizational All-Star in both 2019, when he was with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League, and in 2021 when he was with the Great Lakes Loons of the High-A Central.

He missed most of the 2023 season with an injury, being limited to 34 games of hitting .277 mainly in AA, but he started 2024 red hot in AAA with the Oklahoma City Baseball Club of the Pacific Coast League, where he hit .371 in 15 games. He was called up to Los Angeles on April 16th after an injury to Jason Heyward and was immediately inserted in the starting line-up, playing both center field and right field. He collected his first major league hit in his debut game against the Washington Nationals and was at .291 after 14 games when he had the first four-hit game of his career on May 3rd against the Atlanta Braves, raising his batting average to .333. That night included the game-winning hit, a single off Jesse Chavez that drove in the designated runner in the bottom of the 11th inning. He ended up playing 116 games, batting .248 with 13 homers and 46 RBIs; his OPS+ was 100 exactly. He was part of the Dodgers team that won the 2024 World Series for their first title since 1988; however, after going 4 for 17 in the NLcs with a pair of homers, he did not play in the World Series itself.

In 2025, he was with the Dodgers all season, playing 156 games as the regular center fielder. He hit .272 with 27 homers and 86 RBIs for an OPS+ of 115. This time, he played in all of the postseason series in which the Dodgers participated, including six of seven games in the World Series. That was in spite of struggling badly in the early rounds, including going 1 for 15 in the Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies and 2 for 11 in the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers. He was just 1 for 15 in the first four games of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays and was benched starting with Game 5, although he came in as a substitute in Games 6 and 7. It was in the dramatic seventh game that he had his signature moment, and it came on defence, as he made a great catch at the wall of a drive off the bat of Ernie Clement with two outs, the bases loaded and the score tied in the bottom of the 9th. He crashed into LF Kiké Hernandez in making the catch, but managed to hold on to the ball. He had just come into the game to replace Tommy Edman in center field with the bases loaded and one out.

In 2026, he started the year on a tear, as he hit .321 and slugged .518 in 31 games in March and April, hitting 5 homers and driving in 25 runs. On May 6th, he had the first three-homer game of his career in a 12-2 win over the Houston Astros, with the final homer coming off position player Cesar Salazar.
