Biographical Information

André Lebhar was on the French national team in the 1999 European Championship. He started their opener against Croatia and pitched eight shutout innings to win a 1-0 duel with Jimmy Summers. He had 9 innings with a 0.00 ERA in the round-robin to tie for the ERA lead with Rickard Ljung, Robin Roy, Manny Olivera, Carlos Ros and Juan Tellechea. In the semifinal, he lost to powerhouse Italy. France won a Bronze, their first medal ever in a European Championship. One wonders if he was related to teammate Carl Lebhar.

Statistics are only available online (as of 9/2/25) for the tail end of his Division Elite career; he was 8-2 with a 4.79 ERA for the 1998 Paris Université Club and 9-3 with a save and a 4.35 ERA for them in 1999. He was pretty much done after that as he was already 37.
