Biographical Information[edit]
Akira Miyakoshi was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 8th inning of the 1996 NPB draft, but he never pitched more than 8 games a season in his first eight seasons. The Dragons traded him with Eiji Shotsu to the Seibu Lions for Hiromasa Tamano and Susumu Otomo in 2005, and he went 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA that season. Miyakoshi slumped to 1-3 with a 5.30 ERA in 2006, and heonly pitched 3 games in 2007 then he announced his retirement. He later became a scout for the Rakuten Golden Eagles.
Overall, Miyakoshi went 6-6 with a 4.87 ERA, struck out 92 and pitched 137 innings in 8 seasons in NPB.
