Biographical Information[edit]
Aaron Clapp, John Clapp's brother, was an above-average hitter in his one season in the majors, but had the misfortune to contend for the first base job of the 1879 Troy Trojans against another rookie, none other than future Hall of Famer Dan Brouthers. In 36 games, he hit .267 without a homer but with 18 RBIs.
