2025 European Cup
The 2025 European Cup ran from June 4 to June 8, 2025 in Rouen, Normandie, France.
June 4[edit]
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 16, Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks 2. 3B Wander Encarnación has four runs and three RBI, 1B Jesús Ustariz drives in four and Kevin Rodríguez goes the distance as Spain romps in their opener. Klaus Scheicher gets the loss.
- Barracudas de Montpellier 2, Hoboken Pioneers 0. Anderson Vera fires a five-hitter, outdueling Dennis Neal and company. DH Ben Couvreur scores both runs for France.
- Rouen Huskies 10, Vienna Metrostars 0. Scott Bellina and Axel Laval team up on a four-hitter and 3B Louis Brainville falls a triple shy of a cycle, driving in four, as the hosts cruise. Mo Hackl is the losing hurler.
June 5[edit]
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 3, Hoboken Pioneers 1. Puerto Cruz's Leslie Nacar and Hoboken's Bebee Brayden trade goose eggs for eight innings. 3B Wander Encarnación opens the 9th by reaching on an error and SS Edison Valerio homered to chase Brayden.
- Barracudas de Montpellier 10, Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks 0. Ben Couvreur (6 IP) and Andy Pitcher (1 IP) combine on a mercy rule no-hitter, striking out 12 and walking 4 (3 to C Shogo Ichimura). Vitus Gneist gets the loss. 3B Pierre Doat scores three times.
- Rouen Huskies vs. K. Deurne Spartans suspended due to rain.
June 6[edit]
- K. Deurne Spartans 4, Vienna Metrostars 3. Anderson Gerdel strikes out 13 in a complete game to beat fellow import Kevin Schnorbach. C Johiner Arguinzones (3 H, 3 RBI) and 2B/3B Alexis Marquez (3 H, 3 R) lead the offense for the Belgian team. CF Jak Simonsen has two hits for Vienna.
- Hoboken Pioneers 9, Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks 7. Ben van Nuffel and three relievers combine to strike out ten and DH Vegas Tiliakos has 3 hits for Hoboken. Eoghan McGharry gets the loss, with 1B Julian Faulhaber producing three runs for the Ducks.
- Rouen Huskies 28, K. Deurne Spartans 4. Yesterday's suspended game is finished up. 1B Hugo Blondel and SS Jake Mackenzie each score five and have four hits (three doubles). Axel Laval gets the win over José Luis Larrinaga as the Cuban league veteran is rocked for 10 runs in 1 1/3 IP.
June 7[edit]
- Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks 5, Vienna Metrostars 4. The two winless Austrian teams square off. Nico Schadler goes six scoreless for Vienna and Klaus Scheicher five for Wiener Neustadt. Vienna scores four off Moritz Scheicher in the 8th but a 3-run double by Moritz Scheicher helps fuel a five-run 9th off Jak Simonsen as the Diving Ducks rally to win it. Vitus Gneist gets the victory.
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 9, K. Deurne Spartans 2. 3B Wander Encarnación goes 5-for-5 and falls a triple shy of a cycle. Omar Riesgo saves the win for Hildemaro Requena, who defeats fellow Venezuelan Elvis Polanco.
- Barracudas de Montpellier 2, Rouen Huskies 1. The two French teams meet for a spot in the finals. Ex-Husky Owen Ozanich and Yoilan Quinonez combine to whiff 12 and 2B Dorian Bouniol takes part in both Montpellier runs. Thibault Mercadier pitches well in a loss, while C Luc Viger scores Rouen's lone run.
June 8[edit]
- Hoboken Pioneers 11, Vienna Metrostars 2. SS Benjamin Goffaux raps three hits and Kevin De Smedt goes five scoreless for the win. 3B Claus Seiser reaches three times for Vienna, while the decision for them goes to Felix Dittrich.
- Rouen Huskies 5, K. Deurne Spartans 3. The hosts win third place as Esteban Prioul and Arthur Mangien strike out 12, while 1B Oscar Lebouc has two hits, two walks, a run and two RBI. For the Spartans, CF Daniel Bustamante collects three hits and Alexis Marquez throws a complete game.
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 8, Barracudas de Montpellier 3. The Spanish club wins the title as Cuban veteran Pablo Guillén strikes out 11 in 6 shutout innings of relief to beat Anderson Vera. 1B/2B Jesús Ustariz homers twice for the Marlins, while SS Antoni Flores has three for the Barrcaduas.
The MVP went to Rouen third baseman Louis Brainville.
