Biographical Information

Yuya Onaka was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 6th round of the 2016 NPB draft, and he had a 6.52 ERA in 11 games in 2017. The Hanshin Tigers then selected him as the compensation for losing free agent Yamato Maeda, and he had a 3.86 ERA in 12 games in 2018. Onaka only pitched 10 games combined for the big club in the next four seasons, and he was released in 2022. The Yakult Swallows signed him, and his ERA was 5.17 in 11 relief outings in 2023. He allowed 4 runs in 2 innings in 2024, and he announced his retirement.
