Biographical Information[edit]
Yutaka Muroi signed with the Lion club in 1938, and he went 7-for-42 in the spring season. He hit .217/.291/.296 in 33 games in the fall season, and he played 47 games with a .222/.256/.290 batting line in 1939. Muroi missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he returned with the Nankai Hawks in 1942. He recorded a .217/.321/.228 batting line in 28 games, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Muroi hit .214/.275/.265 with 88 hits in 3 seasons in NPB.
