Yuta Mutoh pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.
Mutoh was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 3rd round of the 2010 NPB draft, and he had a 4.15 ERA in 7 appearances in 2011. His ERA was 3.02 in 33 relief outings in 2012, and he improved to a 3.73 ERA in 58 games with 10 holds in 2013. Mutoh was 8th in appearances in the Central League, tied with Yuya Ando and Shinji Ohara. He recorded a 3.60 ERA in 15 games in 2014, but he only got 12 appearances combined in the next three seasons and he was released. The Yokohama BayStars signed him, and Muto's ERA was 6.46 in 20 games in 2018. He notched 3 holds with a 3.32 ERA in 31 games in 2019, but his ERA rose to 7.47 in 21 games in 2020. Mutoh announced his retirement after he spent nearly the entire 2021 season in the minors.
Overall, Mutoh was 10-9 with 21 holds and a 4.25 ERA, struck out 185 and pitched 271 1/3 innings in 10 seasons in NPB.
