Biographical Information

Yusuke Azuma has played in Nippon Pro Baseball. His brother Junpei Azuma also played in NPB.

Azuma was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 2nd round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Yasuji Ibe. He was 3-2 with 7 holds and a 4.71 ERA in 24 appearances in 2019, and he pitched 13 games with a 3.00 ERA in 2020. Azuma improved to a 2.88 ERA in 37 relief outings with 4 holds in 2021, but he only pitched 3 games in 2022 due to injuries. Azuma returned in 2023, and he collected 11 holds with a 2.91 ERA in 36 appearances. However, he allowed 9 runs in 7 1/3 innings in 2024, and he only got 6 appearances in 2025.
