Biographical Information[edit]

Yukio Tsuta played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Tsuta signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes in 1957, and he had a 4.00 ERA in 3 games in his first season. He went 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA in 1958, and he had a 5-17 record with a 3.68 ERA in 1959. He was 4th in losses in the Pacific League, tied with Takao Kajimoto. Tsuda was 7-19 with a 3.56 ERA in 1960, and he ranked 2nd in losses (4 behind Masayuki Dobashi). He then recorded a 4.67 ERA with a 2-5 record in 1961, and he only pitched 2 games in 1962. Tsuda went to the Hiroshima Carp in 1963, but he failed to return to the top team and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Tsuta was 16-44 with a 3.75 ERA, struck out 238 and pitched 448 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
