Yuki Kuniyoshi has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Kuniyoshi was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the development phase in the 2009 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He had a 2.30 ERA in 8 starts in 2011, and he went 4-12 with a 3.67 ERA in 2012. Kuniyoshi tied Jason Standridge for 3rd in losses in the Central League that season. He had a right shoulder injury in 2013, so he only pitched 3 games with a 7.45 ERA. He was then turned into a reliever, and he notched 14 holds with a 3.47 ERA in 49 appearances in 2014. Kuniyoshi went 3-2 with a 2.43 ERA in 2015, but he only pitched 5 games combined in the next two seasons for the big club.
The Osaka native recorded a 4.86 ERA in 13 games in 2018, and he was 1-3 with a 4.39 ERA for the Canberra Cavalry in the 2018-2019 ABL. Kuniyoshi then pitched 53 games with 9 holds and a 4.80 ERA in 2019, and he notched 10 holds with a 3.43 ERA in 42 appearances in 2020. He struggled in 2021 as his ERA was 5.16 in 18 games, and the BayStars traded him to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Yuki Ariyoshi in June. Kuniyoshi bounced back after changing teams, and he notched 17 holds with a solid 1.44 ERA in 25 appearances. He only got 9 appearances combined in the next two seasons, and he got 10 holds with a 1.51 ERA in 14 relief outings in 2024.
