Biographical Information[edit]

Yudai Koga has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Koga was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 5th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Yoichi Okabayashi.[1] He stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2017, and he was 1-for-13 in 2018. Koga then went 3-for-15 in 2019, and he was 2-for-42 in 27 games in 2020. He was Yakult's main backup catcher behind Yuhei Nakamura in 2021, and he recorded a .224/.256/.241 batting line in 54 games that season. Koga then slumped to .183/.200/.225 in 2022, and his batting line was .294/.377/.353 in 39 games in 2023. Unfortunately, he then underwent left knee surgery and missed the entire 2024 season. Koga took Nakamura's starting spot in 2025, and he crushed 2 homers with a .280/.319/.345 batting line in 87 games. He led the Central League in both runners thrown out stealing (30) and caught stealing percentage (50).
