Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiteru Ishikawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Ishikawa signed with the Hanshin Tigers in 1957, and he went 13-7 with a 2.37 ERA in his first season. He was 7th in ERA in the Central League (between Yoshinori Kido and Masaaki Koyama) and 6th in appearances (tied with Toshitake Nakayama). Ishikawa then had a 6-7 record with a 2.71 ERA in 1958, and he recorded a 2.71 ERA again with a 9-9 record in 38 appearances in 1959. He was 4-8 with a 2.95 ERA in 1960, and he pitched 32 games with a 3.36 ERA in 1961. Ishikawa went 0-2 with a 3.81 ERA in 12 games in 19622, but he only pitched 3 games for the top team in 1963 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Ishikawa was 32-35 with a 2.83 ERA, struck out 362 and pitched 728 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
