Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshitake Tsutsui signed with the Dai Tokyo club in 1936, and he was 2-for-22 in the spring season. He was Dai Tokyo's starting catcher in the fall season, and he hit .183/.302/.195 in 28 games. On October 13 against the Osaka Tigers, he allowed 13 steals and it was still the NPB record for most steals in a game as of 2025. Tsutsui was 3-for-17 in the 1937 spring season, and he only played 2 games in the fall season. He recorded a .136/.219/.167 batting line in 32 games in 1939, and he announced his retirement.
