Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshio Shiotsu signed with the Daimai Orions in 1958, and he only played 3 games in his first season. He hit .230/.242/.311 in 27 games in 1959, and he played 42 games with a .160/.250/.360 batting line in 1960. Shiotsu was 0-for-1 with a walk in the 1960 Nippon Series, and the Orions were swept by the Taiyo Whales. He missed the 1961 season due to injuries, then his batting line was .279/.290/.353 in 1962. Shiotsu hit .226/.264/.323 in 76 games in 1963, and he was 11-for-57 in 1964. He went to the Chunichi Dragons in 1965, but he failed to return to the big club and he announced his retirement. He had batted .225/.258/.324 with 7 homers in 391 plate appearances for his career, playing primarily in the outfield but occasionally in the infield as well.
