Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Yoshimitsu Nakayama played for IBM in the Japanese industrial league, and he signed with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization in 1993. He hit .253/.327/.299 in 50 games in his first season, and he was 2-for-3 in 5 games in the 1993 Korean Series with a RBI single off Dong-yeol Sun in Game 5; the Lions lost to the Haitai Tigers in 7 games. Nakayama improved to .309/.382/.412 in 35 games in 1994, but he slumped to .167/.246/.167 in 1995 and he announced his retirement. His nephew Shota Nakayama played in Nippon Pro Baseball. In 125 KBO games, he had hit .249/.323/.301.
