Biographical Information

Yoshihiro Iwamoto was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 5th round of the 1981 NPB draft, and he was 9-for-23 in his first season. He went 1-for-8 in 33 games in 1983, and he had a .143/.174/.286 batting line in 1984. Iwamoto shared the starting second baseman spot with Shinichi Murakami in 1985, and he played 87 games with a .276/.377/.474 batting line. He was the main backup second baseman behind Junichi Fukura in 1986, and he hit .197/.247/.276 in 90 games. The Braves then traded him to the Chunichi Dragons for Tsuyoshi Uchida, and he was 8-for-44 in 1987. Iwamoto went 1-for-10 in 1988, and he was 2-for-13 in 1989. He only got one at-bat in 1990, and he announced his retirement. He later coached the Dragons from 1991 to 1993.
