Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Yoshihiro Ariga was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 4th round of the 1981 NPB draft, and he hit .147/.147/.265 in 26 games in his first season. He played 69 games (with a career-high 152 PA) with a .246/.329/.338 batting line in 1983, then he slumped to .120/.254/.120 in 62 plate appearances in 1984. Ariga didn't reach the big club in 1985, and he was traded to the Chunichi Dragons for cash. He was 1-for-8 in 20 games in 1986, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Ariga hit .198/.282/.270 with 44 hits in 4 seasons in NPB.
