Biographical Information

Yoshiaki Matsubara was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 1969 NPB draft, and he was 0-for-10 in 1967. He went 2-for-10 in 1968, and he played 101 games with a .205/.245/.289 batting line in 1969; primarily a pinch-hitter, he only played 20 games in the outfield. Matsubara's batting line fell to .139/.188/.153 in 1970, and he announced his retirement after having a .222/.222/.222 batting line in 1971.

Overall, Matsubara hit .182/.225/.244 with 53 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
