Biographical Information[edit]

Sidearmer Yoshihiro Seo was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 1991 NPB draft, but he didn't reach the big club in his first five seasons. He was 4-4 with a 2.37 ERA for the 1993 Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks. He was third in the Northern League in ERA in its first season. On June 30, he faced 70-year-old Minnie Minoso, coming up for a stunt. Seo got Minoso on a grounder back to the mound. Seo was 1-2 with a 3.67 ERA in 1996; his only career win in Nippon Pro Baseball was by shutout. He tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings in 1997 but walked six and would never make it back up. He was traded with Shinichiro Minami to the Yomiuri Giants for Takeshi Omori in 1998 and retired after the 2000 season.
