Biographical Information

Yohan Tavarez signed with the Kansas City Royals in 2013, and he was 2-3 with a 0.81 ERA for the DSL Royals that season. The Royals then released him, and he joined the academy of the Hiroshima Carp. Tavarez signed with the Carp in 2018, but he had a 7.32 ERA in 17 appearances in the NPB Farm Leagues and he was released. He then played for the independent Shiga GO Blacks from 2019 to 2020 and for the Toyama GRN Thunderbirds from 2020 to 2022. The Chunichi Dragons signed him in May 2022, and he had a 6.00 ERA in 3 games for the big club. He also went 0-4 with a 9.30 ERA in the minors, and he was released. Tavarez then played for the Kitakyushu Shimonoseki Phoenix, and he announced his retirement in 2025.
