Biographical Information

Yiddi Cappe has played in the minors.

Signed by the Miami Marlins, he hit .270/.328/.402 for the 2021 DSL Marlins, fielding .922 at short. He hit 17 doubles to tie Yanquiel Fernández and Felix Negueis for the Dominican Summer League lead. He split 2022 between the FCL Marlins (.305/.354/.517 in 30 G) and Jupiter Hammerheads (.278/.299/.380 in 37 G). In 2023, he slipped to .220/.250/.308 for the Beloit Sky Carp, fielding .959 at second base. He banged out 26 doubles to tie Jacob Amaya for 3rd in the Marlins chain; that figure tied Edwin Arroyo and Nathan Martorella for 7th in the Midwest League.

In 2024, Cappe split time between Beloit (.225/.303/.288 in 60 G) and Jupiter (5 for 23), fielding .887 at third base, his main spot that year. He rebounded in 2025, split between the FCL Marlins (5 for 10, 2B, 2 HR, BB), Beloit (.278/.330/.377 in 53 G) and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (.158/.190/.158 in 6 G), stealing 29 bases in 36 tries overall. He then was picked for the Cuban national team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
