Biographical Information[edit]
Yasuo Nagai played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Nagai signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes in 1953, and he had a 6.23 ERA in 3 games in his first season. He went 2-5 with a 5.43 ERA in 1954, and he had a 9-12 record with a 3.13 ERA in 1955. He was 7th in appearances (51) in the Pacific League, tied with Taisei Nakamura. Nagai was 8-11 with a 3.52 ERA in 1956, but his ERA rose to 10.80 in 9 games in 1957. He failed to return to the top team, and he announced his retirement after the 1959 season.
Overall, Nagai was 19-31 with a 3.95 ERA, struck out 229 and pitched 436 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
