Biographical Information

Yasuhito Shimao was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2nd round of the 1986 NPB draft, and he was 1-0 with a 3.23 ERA in 1988. He went 1-5 with a 3.96 ERA in 1989, and he allowed 16 runs in 6 2/3 innings in 1990. Shimao only got 2 appearances in 1991, and he pitched a career-high 25 games with a 2.39 ERA in 1992. However, he then underwent Tommy John surgery, and he failed to return to the big club before he announced his retirement in 1996. He then became an actor.
