Biographical Information[edit]
Yader Monge has been on the Costa Rican national team.
He hit .133/.278/.133 with two runs and three RBI in the 2017 Central American Games. [1] In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Central American Qualifier, he batted .250/.235/.250 with one run and one RBI yet was still named the All-Star DH. He was already their oldest player, 5 years older than Bayron Palma. He was still named the All-Star DH. [2] He and his son Heiner Monge became the first father-son duo to play for Costa Rica at the same time. [3] He won a Silver Medal with Costa Rica in the 2025 Central American Games at age 42; it matched their best Central American Games finish in baseball, 39 years after their other Silver. [4]
