Wolfgang Loos played in the Bundesliga and for the German national team.
Loos hit .188/.316/.313 for Germany in the 1979 European Junior Championship. He made it to the senior team by the 1984 B-Level European Championship, when he hit .308/.308/.692 with 3 runs in 3 games. During the 1986 B-Level European Championship, he was 0 for 8 but with 3 walks and one time plunked. Germany won to move on to the 1987 European Championship, in which he was 2-for-11 with a double. He batted .154/.313/.192 in the 1989 European Championship.
Wolfgang hit .313/.450/.375 with 5 runs in 4 games in the 1990 B-Level European Championship and .478/.538/.652 with 7 runs in 5 games when Germany won the 1992 B-Level European Championship. Back in the main event, he was 0 for 3 with 2 walks in the 1993 European Championship to conclude his national team career. Through 2010, he was among the national team leaders in European Championships played in (including B-Level; tied for 9th with Matthias Winterrath, Torsten Stender, Hans Grünzinger and Hans-Norbert Jäger), runs (23, tied for 12th with Jens Heymer and Kai Gronauer), walks (18, tied for 5th with Simon Gühring and Karl Phillipp), strikeouts (24, tied for 13th with Robert Gruber), OBP (.375, 13th, between Hans-Peter Jäger and Georg Bull), putouts (204, 3rd, behind Gühring and Walter Schmid) and fielding (.982, 4th, between Gronauer and Gühring).
Bundesliga-1 stats are unavailable online (as of 8/4/2025) prior to 1994; by 1994, he was playing out his career, in his final three seasons with the Mannheim Tornados and now a bench player.
