Biographical Information[edit]
Wes Obermueller last pitched professionally for the Samsung Lions in 2008; he had been a member of the Orix Buffaloes in 2007.
After his playing career, he returned to his alma mater, the University of Iowa, to become director of player development.
His son Cade Obermueller was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 19th round of the 2024 amateur draft. He did not sign and was selected again in the 2025 amateur draft, this time with the 63rd overall pick.
