Biographical Information[edit]
Ulysses Hollimon was a regional Golden Gloves boxing champion. He played football in college and was drafted by the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. He pitched for the Birmingham Black Barons and Baltimore Elite Giants from 1948-1956; he missed time while serving in the Army during the Korean War. The NLB eMuseum says he pitched in the 1951 East-West Game but he is not listed on the rosters there. After baseball, he worked for Ford Motor Company for 33 years and coached Little League.
