Biographical Information

Tyler Jones is an umpire who worked his first major league game on May 4, 2025 as a call-up umpire from AAA. He is the twin brother of Austin Jones, whose own major league umpire debut had come in 2024. Fittingly, Tyler worked both games of a twinbill at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO in his debut. Tyler and Austin were the fourth set of brothers to umpire in the majors, but the first twins to do so.

He worked a total of 24 major league games his first season. He and his brother had started umpiring Little League games when they were both in high school.
