Biographical Information[edit]

Travis Hubbel pitched in the minor leagues and for Team Canada.

Hubbel was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 1997 Amateur Draft, and he hit .160/.227/.202 in 42 games for the Medicine Hat Blue Jays in his first season. He was 11-for-37 in Medicine Hat in 1998, and he went 2-for-16 with the St. Catharines Stompers. He then became a pitcher, and his ERA was 1.80 in 5 games with a save for the Stompers in 1999. Hubbel was 8-9 with a 3.89 ERA for the Hagerstown Suns in 2000, and he also pitched 5 1/3 innings with 2 runs allowed for the Dunedin Blue Jays. He then went 1-3 with a 6.14 ERA in Dunedin in 2001, and he had a 3.38 ERA in 6 games for the Tennessee Smokies. Hubbel represented Canada in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, allowing one run in 2 1/3 IP. His ERA rose to 9.47 in 13 appearances in Dunedin in 2002, and he left the Jays system. Hubbel then went 2-3 with a 5.86 ERA for the Niagara Stars in 2003, and his ERA was 8.68 in 5 games for the Rockford RiverHawks. That was his last season.
