Biographical Information[edit]

Travis Fitta served as an infantryman in the U.S. army from 2009-2015. He then attended El Paso Community College in 2015-2016 where he studied Criminal Justice and Corrections and played baseball. Fitta spent 2018-2019 working at a series of baseball academies and training sites with an emphasis upon hitting development. These included SnapDragon Baseball, the Texas Pitching Institute, USA Baseball, and the Next Level Baseball Academy. Fitta moved to the college ranks for five months in 2019 as director of hitting development for the Ohio University Bobcats.

The Chicago Cubs hired Fitta in late 2019 to be the Eugene Emeralds assistant hitting coach before the 2020 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic. From 2021-2025 Fitta worked at Ascent Athlete (2021-2023) and Driveline Baseball (2023-2025) in various positions.[1]

The Washington Nationals hired Fitta in 2026 for an assistant hitting coach position with the Rochester Red Wings. Fitta was just one of many new minor league coaches President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni hired in preparation for the 2026 season.[2]
