Biographical Information[edit]
Toshio Takamatsu played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Takamatsu signed with the Daiei Stars in 1950, and he went 3-2 with a 5.02 ERA in his first season. He improved to 9-8 with a 2.65 ERA in 1951, and he had a 9-8 record with a 4.19 ERA in 1952. Takamatsu then pitched 29 games with a 9-9 record in 1953, and he slumped to 6-16 with a 4.73 ERA in 1954. He was 6th in losses in the Pacific League, tied with Eiji Shibata and Kazuo Takeuchi. Takamatsu went 6-17 with a 3.10 ERA in 1955, and he ranked 3rd in losses (4 behind Yasuo Yonekawa and Victor Starffin). He announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Takamatsu was 42-60 with a 3.66 ERA, struck out 328 and pitched 813 1/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
